What if you lived a life of more
Moreā¦
More has so many possibilities
When I first opened this page to edit, this note was going to go in one direction. Go figure, it has no turned into more. More of this, more of that, more of all the things. We are just going to chat 3 āmoreā things though.
What is it you love? Hiking, knitting, creating, antiquing, adventuring, loving, churching, driving, all the thingāings.
What ever it is you love, do you have the ability to do more of it? Instead of scrolling randomly, what if you spent that time learning more about the thing/s you love? Itās another choice we make in life, what we do with our time.
Can you challenge yourself to take the time you may not be utilizing as productively as possible and pivot? Donāt give it all up, our brains need some recharge time, how much can you shift through?
Some possible options to restructure:
Instagram - Do you love scrolling āthe gramā? Itās fun right, seeing everyones curated life that looks so perfect (link below to the note about all that). What if you retargeted that algorithm. Start taking in the posts that will grow your life and your āthingā. My feed for instance is a ton of art, cycling, and real estate reels. Learning new techniques, new tip about the market, or inspiration to get out and ride. Instagram is probably still going to be a little bit of a time suck but I donāt want you going cold turkey here.
YOUTUBE - this is a big one, this is where you can take your screen time and level up. Youtube can bring so much education to your phone, your screen, your life. The focus here is to find the content that will truly be helpful from āYouTubersā who know their shit. Even your best podcasts are usually broadcast on YouTube.
Podcasts - Music is the light in my soul. On long drives though, what about podcasts, can you shift that windshield time to leveling up your dreams, your education, your āthingā, Can you level up the learning? Doesnāt matter if youāre 25 or 75, learning keeps the mind moving forward and forward is the direction we need to move.
What if you did one more?
There is A LOT to be said about this one. About doing one more, about the power of that āone moreāā¦
That individual who scores more goals, lifts more weight, earn more money, hikes more miles, helps more individuals, grows to newer levels, (this list goes on) doesnāt do so by luck.
They do so by putting in the work. They do so by putting in the effort. they do so by doing one more. One more rep, one more phone call, one more step. One more than they were planning on, and one more than their competition was doing.
For the top female skier of all time, Mikaela Shiffrin, it was that attitude that elevated her career. I recall years ago reading an article about her life. Growing up, they would skip competitions in order to train and practice. Knowing that while the other skiers would get 1-2-3 runs on the course in the entire day, Mikaela could go to the mountain and practice for the entire weekend. Where that one more day of practice would pay off in the long game.
The Power Of One More is one of the best mind sets to have. Recently I read a book by Ed Myles highlighting the power of one more. And itās now one of three books Is would recommend if ever asked.
Last but not least and in my eyes the most important:
Creating More In Someone Else
This one comes from Tyler Knott Gregson and is such an incredible way to live if you can choose to do so and act in this way. Not just for those you love but what if you could do this for all the friends, strangers, and people in your life?
To different extents, to different levels, but always more?
And what if you took that energy and made sure to tackle your own days and your own energy in that same āmoreāā¦
More Alive, More Aware, More Passionate, More Calm. Just More?
So with that, I wonāt continue to add more words or thoughts since that last bit by Tyler Knott Gregson was where the thought of a āmoreā post came from. It just seems like the best place to leave it.
As always, I believe in you
~Tim
P.S. The tigers eye bracelet below is what I need more of. Luck, prosperity and Happiness for the win. I want to sport this for all the days.
