Monday Shouldn't Be A Downer
Make this your last Monday
( I ask one thing, if you donât want to read, scroll down and watch the video)
Okay, I know you canât just erase Mondays and create a 6 day week, and even if you could, Tuesday would probably just become the next Monday. And we just canât do that to Tuesday, Tuesday didnât do anything wrong.
What if you could tackle Mondays in a new way. What if you could handle a Monday morning as if it were a Saturday?
Can you blow off work? Probably not, can you walk into work happy that you have a job, proud of whatever work you do, excited to help fellow employees or customers so that they too can have a better day? You sure can!
Can you remind yourself of how lucky you truly are? You are here, you were born. You could have been a fish, a tree, an ant. You arenât though, youâre an actual living human, thatâs a freaking miracle!
Now, if you truly are that miserable going into work or needing to do what you need to do - what can you do to change it? Do you shift how you work? Do you begin to look for a new job? Do you talk to your manager or co-workers and ask for help to create a better work environment?
One thing I am personally working on is creating more flow in my days with a 6AM wake up time. In all honesty, I am still working on it. Creating a time to welcome in the day, to create a plan, to grow in spirit before the day comes roaring in. Some other options for a better Monday, or a better day every day especially if you dread going back to work after the weekend.
Wake up a bit earlier - Give yourself extra time to enjoy your morning routine without feeling rushed.
Plan out your day - Start your week organized by writing out or scheduling all the tasks you need to do that day and creating a realistic plan for getting it done.
Break it into small tasks - If you have a lot of tasks on your plate, break them down into smaller chunks so they feel less overwhelming.
Go outside! - Get some fresh air and take a walk in nature or around the block before starting your dayâs workâit will help clear your head and give you energy and focus.
Listen to music - Put together an upbeat playlist or listen to some soothing tunes while working on low energy tasksâit can also help get you in the mood for tackling important projects later in the day. I actually love music on a Monday because Spotify has a âDiscover Weeklyâ playlist they release which is built around a listeners general music choices.
Treat yourself - Make sure to give yourself regular breaks throughout the day, either with snacks or something special like taking five minutes for an online shopping spree or leisurely browsing through Instagram stories.
Set goals for tomorrow - Before closing down for the evening, set some goals for Tuesday so that when Monday rolls back around again, you can hit the ground running!
I want to see you be BRAVE!
Coming in Thursdayâs release - When life makes a hard left turn where you were planning on turning right.
