It's Time To Finish

There comes a time when we all just need to finish it. To have it be done. That time is now.

It’s Finishing Time - Time To Be Done

When do you decide you're just finished.

It's run it's course and you're done. End the chapter, close the book, call it a wrap. However you want to say it, you’re finished?

How do you even get there? How do you not give up?

Because that’s the hard part, right? Not giving up. Not quitting.

Becoming a finisher instead of a quitter.

Even a career or a job. Have you ever thought about that time you quit. Or maybe you want to quit? What if you just reprogrammed that negative connotation. What if you ended it with “that’s a wrap” and understood your time at that place of employment had run it’s course. That you were finished.
You don’t have to quit, it was / is just the right time to move on.

If there was ever a time to start becoming a finisher, that time is now. Yup! Like today.

Be a finisher. Be the best.

I don’t mean better than everyone else. I mean the best you can be for you. Get through that task, that race, that course. And then finish it. When you started, you didn’t start just to give up. You had a goal in sight, right? And now, here you are. And if you do the best you can and you finish it, shouldn’t that be considered a win? We don’t quit. We don’t give up. We finish.

Choose your course to finishing and be the best you that you can be along the way/

5 Tips to Help You Become a Finisher

Tasks, projects, assignments - all of these words are enough to make any person groan, me included. You have the ability to overcome each and every one. I promise.

Here are 5 tips that will help you finish any task like a pro.

  1. The Elephant Technique - How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time! Break down your task into manageable chunks. You'll feel a sense of accomplishment with each small victory, not to mention it makes the overall task seem less daunting.

  2. Time Management - Cast yourself as the star in a movie where time is literally of the essence. Set a timer for focused, uninterrupted work periods, followed by short, refreshing breaks. This technique, known as the Pomodoro Technique, can dramatically improve your productivity.

  3. Prioritize - Not all tasks are created equal. Some are as important as Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings, while others...well, they're more like that one dwarf whose name you can never quite remember. Identify your most crucial tasks and tackle those first.

  4. The Buddy System - Remember field trips with your buddy system? Make the journey less lonely and hold each other accountable. This isn't just useful for not losing anyone at the zoo, it's great for motivation too!

  5. Reward Yourself - All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Don't be like Jack. Reward yourself with little treats along the way - it could be a cup of your favorite coffee, a quick Netflix break, or even a victory dance. Just make sure your reward doesn't turn into another procrastination tool!

Sometimes, you just have to rest… And on that note, I am finished writing for today.

Keep shining,

Tim
